Aliro Quantum taps former Rigetti exec Ostby as Chief Product Officer
Aliro Quantum has announced Dr. Eric Ostby as its new Chief Product Officer, a move which comes as Aliro, like many in the quantum space is moving into a period of increasing and expanding customer and partner engagements.
Ostby until very recently was vice president of product at Rigetti, a company he joined in early 2022, several months before financial problems and other issues led to the departure of company founder Chad Rigetti, the hiring of a new CEO, and layoffs. Ostby also previously spent several years at Google working on quantum computing, and ultimately rose to the position of senior product manager, quantum computing, at Google.
An Aliro statement noted that Ostby “played a key role in the demonstration of quantum supremacy at Google,” and “brings more than ten years of experience leading product development for quantum technologies, and will drive the next level of product capabilities and solutions to increase adoption of entanglement-based quantum networks.”
The statement added, “Ostby will lead Aliro’s product management team and will be responsible for setting product strategy and roadmaps, driving product direction and commercialization, and working closely with customers and partners to incorporate product requirements.”
Dr. Prineha Narang, founder and Chief Technology Officer with Aliro Quantum, added, “Since spinning out of NarangLab, Aliro has demonstrated impressive growth. We have built a team of world-class experts in quantum physics, quantum networking, classical networking, and security. With Eric Ostby in place to lead product, we know that we have the right team to accelerate the momentum for quantum networking.”
Aliro is a Silver sponsor of the upcoming IQT live event in New York City this October.
