First Pan-European Quantum Hackathon November 5-6, 2019
(Labs.ripe.net) The first Pan-European Quantum Hackathon has been announced. The hackathon will be held simultaneously in five connected locations or ‘nodes’ November 5-6 across Europe. Participants from across all five locations will form teams to take on challenges, and possibly even form cross-node teams. Experts and jury members will also be at hand to guide participants.
The goal of this hackathon is to develop some of the first applications that use quantum mechanics to secure their online communications. An example of such an application is a browser that can load a web page over an encrypted HTTPS connection using a secret key generated by a quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol.
