Fraunhofer ILT’s Head of the Strategic Mission Initiative for Quantum Technology, Bernd Jungbluth, will Speak at IQT the Hague in 2024
The Inside Quantum Technology (IQT) conference in The Hague in 2024 will feature a prominent figure in the field of quantum technologies, Dr. Bernd Jungbluth, head of the Strategic Mission Initiative for Quantum Technology at Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT). Dr. Jungbluth’s role at Fraunhofer ILT involves directing the program at the institute and coordinating the establishment of the Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (CQSE), a project aimed at economic development in the Rhenish lignite mining region.
Dr. Jungbluth plays a key role in the EIN Quantum NRW quantum innovation network as a steering committee member, focusing on technology transfer. His involvement extends to being a member of the European Quantum Internet Alliance and the Excellence Cluster ML4Q, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of quantum technologies both regionally and across Europe.
In his scientific career, Dr. Jungbluth has been dedicated to developing application-adapted lasers and frequency converters for industry and science. Since 2008, he has led the Nonlinear Optics and Tunable Lasers working group at Fraunhofer ILT. In recent years, his focus has shifted towards photonic quantum-enabling technologies. This includes the development of low-noise frequency converters for the Quantum Internet Demonstrator in collaboration with QuTech. His work in this area is pivotal in paving the way for future quantum communication networks.
Dr. Jungbluth’s academic background is equally impressive, having completed his physics studies at RWTH Aachen University in 2000 and receiving his Ph.D. from the mechanical engineering faculty in 2011. His expertise in the theoretical and practical aspects of quantum technologies makes him a leading voice in the field.
At the IQT conference, Dr. Jungbluth is expected to share valuable insights into the development and application of quantum technologies, particularly in the context of photonic innovations and their role in advancing quantum communication networks, using his work at Fraunhofer ILT as an example. His session will likely cover the challenges and opportunities in implementing quantum technologies for economic development and the importance of collaborative efforts in the quantum sector.
Dr. Bernd Jungbluth’s contribution to the conference will be a significant addition, offering attendees a comprehensive view of quantum technology applications’ current state and prospects. His expertise and leadership in the field will provide a stimulating and informative experience for all who attend.
IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40 panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.
The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in The Hague.
