(KoreaBizWire) South Korea’s largest shipbuilder, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., said Wednesday that it had introduced quantum cryptography communication technology for the first time among global shipyards, aimed at ensuring stronger security for its defense technologies.
Under the initiative of establishing quantum cryptography communication infrastructure, the company successfully set up a trial network of quantum cryptography communication connecting its special ship business unit, management headquarters and offshore plants.
Hyundai Heavy officials said that the introduction of the quantum cryptography communication system would contribute to establishing a more robust security system for the protection of defense and industrial technologies, while laying a foundation for the company to spur more efforts to create 5G-based smart shipyards.
