Innovate UK opens up £6m quantum technology competition
(EENewsEurope) Innovate UK has opened its third competition for commercialising quantum technologies with a £6m fund. The aim of the Commercialising quantum technologies challenge is to boost the development of systems in connectivity, sensing, positioning, navigation and timing as well as quantum computing.
The proposal must identify a clear market opportunity for second generation quantum techniques and an innovative project which exploits it. The fund will award up to £500,000. The competition is open until 11am on Wednesday 9 March 2022.

The aim of this competition is to advance the commercialisation of quantum technologies in the UK and to address one or more of the technical challenges:
connectivity
seeing the invisible
positioning, navigation and timing
computing
The proposal must identify a clear market opportunity and an innovative project which exploits it.
Your project must:
exploit second generation quantum techniques
demonstrate how the technology will contribute towards the commercialisation of quantum technologies in or from the UK
outline the investment from industry that you will generate.
