Marco Polini, a distinguished Full Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Pisa and the Co-Founder of Planckian, is set to share his insights at the upcoming IQT Nordics conference in Helsinki. With a career that spans over two decades in academia and innovation, Polini is renowned for his significant contributions to physics and quantum technology.
Beginning his academic journey with a degree in Physics from the University of Pisa in 1999 and a Ph.D. from the Scuola Normale Superiore in 2003, Polini’s postdoctoral path has taken him to prestigious institutions around the world, including the University of Texas at Austin, the Italian National Research Council, and the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology. His research has been prolific and impactful, authoring over 220 peer-reviewed publications that have collectively earned over 29,000 citations, resulting in an impressive Hirsch index of 73.
In 2021, leveraging his extensive background in quantum mechanics, Polini co-founded Planckian, a startup dedicated to pioneering the development of the first quantum battery. This innovation promises to revolutionize energy storage and introduce new capabilities in power management.
At the IQT Nordics conference, Marco Polini will discuss the intersections of quantum physics and technology innovation, particularly focusing on the advancements and challenges in quantum battery technology, using his work at Planckian as an example.
IQT Nordics/Helsinki, June 24-26, Aalto University, Dipoli Building, Helsinki
