Mathias Van Den Bossche, the Director of Thales Alenia Space, will speak at IQT the Hague in April 2024.

In April 2024, the IQT the Hague Conference, will feature Dr. Mathias Van Den Bossche, a professional with a rich quantum many-body systems background and extensive space industry experience, particularly with Thales Alenia Space. His transition from academia to a leading role in a major aerospace corporation positions him as a key voice in the intersection of quantum technology and space applications.

Dr. Van Den Bossche’s academic journey began with a PhD in Quantum Many-body Systems from Sorbonne Université. His time in academia saw him working across various European institutions, contributing to the field of quantum physics and expanding his expertise in complex quantum systems.

His move to the space industry significantly shifted his career path. At Thales Alenia Space, a prominent player in the aerospace sector, Dr. Van Den Bossche honed his skills as a large system architect, integrator, and program manager. His work on projects such as Galileo and EGNOS, critical components of Europe’s satellite navigation system, demonstrates his capability to handle large-scale, complex technological projects.

Currently, Dr. Van Den Bossche is responsible for overseeing the transverse research, technology, and product policy of Thales Alenia Space. This role involves guiding the strategic direction of the company’s technological advancements and product development. Additionally, he coordinates the quantum communication roadmap across the Thales group, an initiative that signifies the growing importance of quantum technology in the aerospace and defense sectors.

At the IQT The Hague conference, Dr. Van Den Bossche is expected to share insights from his extensive experience in both quantum physics and the space industry. His presentation will likely cover the integration of quantum technologies in space applications, focusing on areas such as quantum communication and the challenges and opportunities it presents for aerospace and defense.

Given his unique background and current role at Thales Alenia Space, Dr. Van Den Bossche’s talk is anticipated to provide a comprehensive overview of how quantum technology is integrated into the space sector. His insights will be invaluable for understanding the current state and future potential of quantum communication in space, as well as the broader implications for global communication and security infrastructures.

IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40-panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.

The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre The Hague.
