Lydia Vermeyden, Director, Research Services Development, Calcul Québec, will speak on Research Support for Humanities in Social Sciences in the Quantum Era” at IQT Canada 2023.
With a BSc. in Physics, specializing in Astrophysics, and a MSc. in Physics and Quantum Information both from the University of Waterloo, Lydia has over 8 years of research experience spanning several fields including: Quantum Physics, nursing and psychology, and over 15 years of experience teaching and training, most recently focusing on programming, research data management (RDM), and advanced research computing (ARC) support. Lydia has spent the last three years in various roles in the national digital research support ecosystem including: Research Consultant specializing in digital research support for Humanities and Social Sciences for ACENET, Chair of the Humanities and Social Sciences national team in the Compute Canada Federation, and Training Specialist for the digital Research Alliance of Canada. She started a new joint role in November 2022 as the Director, new research services development for Calcul Québec and the Manager, special initiatives for ACENET.

IQT Canada 2023 is the tenth global conference and exhibition in the highly successful Inside Quantum Technology series.
This event is Canada’s Quantum Computing Event, focusing on Ecosystems for Quantum Readiness. A number of vertical topics encompassing more than 30 panels and talks from over 80 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding on state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum ecosystems as well as the current impact of quantum computing technologies.
The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers and investors who are working on the current future developments of the quantum ecosystem. IQT Canada is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, INTRIQ, and the Governments of both Canada and Quebec. The June conference will be an “in-person” event to ensure maximum networking and discussion and will take place at Centre Mont-Royal in Montréal (Québec), Canada.
