Michael Hush, Chief Scientist, Q-CTRL, will speak on Panel 7: Quantum AI Algorithms and Software Developmentat Quantum + AI in NYC October 29-30.
Michael Hush is the Chief Scientist at Q-CTRL, a cutting-edge scale-up quantum technology company. Michael joined Q-CTRL at its founding six years ago, initially leading the development of control software to reduce errors on quantum computers. His role expanded, and he was promoted to Chief Scientist three years ago. Under his leadership, Q-CTRL has developed world-leading demonstrations of quantum computers applied to optimization problems relevant to the logistics and transport industries, and new navigation capabilities powered by ruggedized quantum sensors.
Q-CTRL is the Silver Sponsor of IQT Quantum + AI
Michael’s work at Q-CTRL focuses on accelerating the pathway to quantum computing advantage and enhancing the robustness of quantum sensors for deployment in diverse environments. His contributions have been pivotal in establishing Q-CTRL’s infrastructure software, now used by over 14,000 users, which is the chosen control solution for quantum computers available on IBM Cloud. Michael has also spearheaded collaborations with the Australian Department of Defence, Rigetti, Atom Computing, IonQ, the UK Ministry of Defence, and SoftBank.
Michael earned his PhD in quantum physics from the Australian National University (ANU), where he was awarded the University Medal for Theoretical Physics. His postdoctoral research includes fellowships at the Research School of Engineering at ANU and the University of Nottingham, as well as a research and teaching role at UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy.
IQT’s first QUANTUM + AI conference and exhibition covering the coming revolution of combining quantum computing with Artificial Intelligence (AI). QUANTUM + AI takes place October 29-30, 2024, in New York City.
Quantum computing and AI are highly synergistic. Quantum computing having the potential to significantly enhance AI capabilities. Quantum AI combines the power of quantum computing with AI to create new algorithms, machine learning techniques, search procedure and data processing techniques that are impossible to achieve with classical computers.
The Quantum + AI Summit will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers and networking opportunities. Our agenda will be meticulously curated to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing quantum computing in the AI age today, as well as showcase behind-the-scenes look at applications and platforms being constructed.
