Patrick Scully, P. Eng., MBA, has been involved in the research and development of optical networks for over 25 years. In his current role as Director, Product Line Management, in the Converged Packet Optical Division at Ciena (http://www.Ciena.com ), his area of expertise is focused on the development and introduction of products and solutions addressing the needs of customers and service providers. Over the last 10 years, he has pioneered the development and market introduction of several generations of industry leading optical encryption solutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) and a master’s degree in business administration (international affairs) from University of Ottawa (Ottawa, Canada).
