QuSecure achieves SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance validating security controls & practices of its leading QC Solution

QuSecure, Inc., a leader in post-quantum cryptography (PQC), recently announced that it has achieved SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance for its QuProtect software solution, validating the rigorous, independent assessment of its internal security controls and practices of its industry-leading post-Quantum Cryptography solution. Alice & Bob’s cat qubit research published in Nature

Alice & Bob, recently announced the publication of its foundational research in Nature, showcasing significant advancements in cat qubit technology.

The study, Quantum control of a cat-qubit with bit-flip times exceeding ten seconds, realized in collaboration with the QUANTIC Team (Mines Paris – PSL, Ecole Normale Supérieure and INRIA), demonstrates an unprecedented improvement in the stability of superconducting qubits, marking a critical milestone towards useful fault-tolerant quantum computing.

The researchers have significantly extended the bit-flip times from milliseconds to tens of seconds—thousands of times better than any other superconducting qubit type. Read complete news release here.

European-based quantum computing provider Quandela introduces Cloud 2.0

Quandela, a European-based quantum computing provider specializing in photonic quantum computing, recently announced the release of its new version of its quantum computing cloud service, Quandela Cloud 2.0, providing end-users with the most powerful platform for developing photonic quantum applications, as per the corporate news release.

Initially launched in January 2023 and based in Massy France; Quandela is now comprised of hundreds of corporate users, Quandela Cloud is a “comprehensive platform to discover, learn, test, and develop quantum solutions” according to news releas. It gives access to the most advanced quantum servers available at Quandela, easy to use software for generating and manipulating quantum circuits, as well as middleware for executing hybrid quantum-classical workflows in heterogeneous computing environments.”

In Other News from IBM’s Institute for Business Value: IBM’s “quantum safe readiness index”

The IBM Institute for Business Value (IBM IBV), in partnership with Oxford Economics, has surveyed 565 CxOs across 15 countries and 13 industries—all representing organizations with a minimum $250 million in annual revenue. The IBM IBV then analyzed these responses to develop a Quantum-Safe Readiness Index. This index is based on a systematic assessment of organizations’ quantum-safe readiness. Assessment outcomes are intended to inform and guide strategic stakeholders about the timeliness and urgency of their quantum-safe transformation efforts.

Organizations in the survey expect that, when starting from their current levels of quantum preparedness, it will take 12 years to fully integrate quantum-safe standards into their business. In fact, national security guidance requires full compliance with Post-Quantum Cryptography for National Security Systems by 2035. When considering those requirements—along with the lead time needed to identify cryptographic assets and dependencies, implement new standards, and align with partners—the time to begin quantum-safe initiatives is now.

Summary of “Four broad steps to take”

1) Create awareness at the board level for your organization; 2) Communicate the business need for becoming quantum safe; 3) Assess and evaluate the risk-based cryptographic posture of your organization; 4) Begin development of a robust plan for the transformation.
