Quantum Tech One of Six Inventions that Will Transform Farming

(EasternDailyPress) The Future of Food 2040 report, produced by the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), reviewed how changing technological and consumer trends could affect what we will be eating in the coming years – and how it will be produced.
Quantum technologies were one of the six technological advances. Quantum technologies could offer “game-changing opportunities” for precision agriculture. Quantum sensing and measurement would allow the mapping of invisible underground features, including different soil types and water resources, through the detection of minute differences in gravity.
Other technologies predicted to change the face of farming are: agribots, driverless tractors, nanosensors, solar powered drones, and intelligent ear tags for livestock.
