(PulseNewsKorea) South Korea’s top wireless carrier SK Telecom Co. will take part in the European Union (EU)-led quantum communication network building project through its quantum-safe crypto solution developing subsidiary ID Quantique SA (IDQ), which it took over a year ago.
IDQ’s QKD equipment will be used in building quantum cryptography testbed networks that will span nearly 1,400 kilometers (Km) across European cities, including in Geneva, Berlin, Madrid in Spain, and Vienna in Austria, for three years.
SK Telecom last year became the largest stakeholder of IDQ by investing $65 million to enhance its own quantum technology capability.
