Tom Darras, CEO and Co-founder, WeLinQ will speak at IQT The Hague March 13-15.
Tom Darras is the CEO and co-founder of WeLinQ, a technology company developing quantum links based on cold-atom quantum memories to efficiently interconnect quantum processors.
Tom Darras studied at Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de la ville de Paris from 2013 to 2017. He holds a Master’s degree in Physics from ESPCI Paris and a Master’s degree in Quantum Physics from Ecole Normale Supérieure. From 2017 to 2021, he worked on his Ph.D. in Quantum Physics at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Paris in the group of Prof. Julien Laurat, where he conducted research in quantum networks and demonstrated world’s first quantum teleportation protocols based on hybrid entanglement to interconnect quantum devices in heterogeneous architectures. After his Ph.D., Tom Darras worked as a quantum optics researcher at Xanadu Quantum Computing, a worldwide leading company developing photonic fault-tolerant quantum computers. In January 2022, Tom Darras co-founded WeLinQ with Julien Laurat, Eleni Diamanti, and Jean Lautier-Gaud in order to enable the scale-up of quantum computing by interconnecting quantum processors.
